Waiting Is Hard, But Not When Done Right!

Waiting is absolutely one of the hardest phases of life — not even a shadow of doubt about that fact. For me, what makes it even harder is when you have no clue what to wait for — in other terms, all you could see is uncertainty lurking its way into your life. If you can relate to this, well, you are not the only one. I hope you figure a way out through the rest of the article.

If you think I 'm going to jump in with some cliché quotes to guide you through your uncertainty, then certainly I'm not. Because life in Jesus does not offer you a life of false hopes and false optimism, but a life where you live your worries in faith. Instead, I can show you the verse that kept me from falling while going through the uncertainty phase myself.

This verse right here is your leading light in uncertainty. This verse alone can ease out all your worries and anxieties while walking over a pile of it. God, our creator is not only promising us that he is going to take care of us, but he is also assuring us that he will lift us up when it is the right time. There lies the key of waiting- Waiting for the right time, until God lifts you up. Now what is this right time? Who knows when it's the right time? How long does it take? These might be the questions that you find hard to deal with while waiting. Because it is human to get tired and exhausted, of constant waiting, of constant rejections and constant failures.

The waiting season asks us to humble ourselves under the mighty power of God, casting away the air of doubts and the tendency to lean on to your own understanding. Because the verse says again,

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6

So, if you are wondering how to wait when you see no sign of progress, of promotion, any change or anything positive, let me tell you, God's plans are greater than ours and when you leave things to Him, you must have unwavering faith to witness Him lifting you up in honor as he has promised when it is the right time. All you need to do when nothing seems like going in your favor, when none seems to be helping and situations seem to be weighing you down — get ready to humble yourself, to wait with him to witness your life changing with him.

We should stop the need and urge to control every situation we are in and every unwelcomed change that is coming our way. Because, in doing so, we are only wasting our energy and emotions to control what cannot be controlled. The mere acceptance of the fact that sometimes all we can do is just to wait for the right time can bring calmness to our soul. Taking a step back from the chaos and confusions that we are battling with to 'see' it in its actuality alone can do wonders. Sometimes all you need to do is stop complaining and let God do his work in your life. For that, you must have faith to let go your death grip on your plans, decisions and practices that are stopping God from doing things for you.

When God chooses to be with you, you don't necessarily need to know where you're going and what you're going to do. You just have to stop leaning on your own understanding of the situation you are in, because what we might see as a problem can become a solution in God. Waiting patiently when you are put in the waiting season is what God wants from you. He wants you to trust Him and the process you are going through.

It isn't easy to exactly do it as it sounds when you preach. It takes guts and courage to not worry in chaos, to see your plans crumbling right in front of your eyes. But what if God has got better plans for you — not plans for your destruction, but plans for your prosperity. God's got you!
