Are You In the Waiting Season ?

Are you going through a season of no signs, no breakthroughs and no changes ? Are you experiencing a state of stagnancy where you feel like your life has not moved in a while ? Are you also battling anxiety about your future ? Well, then you are in 'the' waiting season. I welcome you to read through the rest of the blog post to find out why exactly are you in this season now.

My times are in your hands - Psalm 31:15

Through Psalm 31:5, David, the author of the chapter, sets down the golden rule about the waiting season. As human beings, we are entitled to go through different seasons of life. Waiting season can be the hardest of it all as we seem to lack the virtue of patience more than any other creature in the animal kingdom. Our patience level mostly tends to wear down as the season prolongs. Well, nobody can blame us for that as it requires endless storage of hope and faith, two difficult words for a Christian.

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven. Ecc 3:1 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; Ecc 3:6

From this we can conclude that waiting season is an inevitable thing in human life according to the book of Ecclesiastes. There is a time for everything; to get, to lose and to keep.

This brings us down to the thought of waiting. Most of the times, the waiting season, where we wait to witness the miracles from heaven, something that must be a glorious one, turns into a miserable one. It can turn our most beautiful journey, a journey through the valleys of hell. This happens because we get tired in the middle of the journey thinking that God has finally given upon us. This leads to a feeling of futility and worthlessness that will gradually take over our little remaining faith and hope. This is probably the time we start to read Psalm chapters like 13, where David just like us asks God some questions we've always wanted to ask.

Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and every day have sorrow in my heart? Psalm 13:1

I'm sure this sounded very much like you, right ? As children of God, we can always let Him know through prayer that we are waiting, though He already knows that. He may not answer us immediately as he is busy preparing us for the next grand season of our life . He wants us to learn few things before we get there. He wants us seasoned for the new stage He is preparing for us. This sounds hard when you are still waiting and don't even know where you are going to. This seems even more difficult when you are losing something you have always wanted and thought would be your destiny. Well remember, you might lose something in the process, but know that you get to keep something incredible at the end. By this way, waiting season in Christian life drives away toxic positivity, because it doesn't guarantee you a season of happiness, but a season where you might lose something and might weep a little. This can be a little bit of a hurdle.

When things get really hard, when nothing in life makes sense, when you find yourself walking through unknown paths, know that you don't necessarily have to know where he is taking you for the next season, because He is holding your hand. All you need to know is, His plans are better than ours, and His plans are beyond us, for he is the God of surprises.

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11

It may seem impossible looking from where we stand now, but things would be clear once we come near His plans. It is also impossible to digest the truth of waiting, especially when we are going through one heck of a waiting season, where everything around seems unfriendly and impossible. You may notice I use the word impossible a lot, because that is the way I felt until my waiting season came to an end. Now I am grateful that I took that journey of impossible waiting, as from where I am standing now and I look back, I can undoubtedly witness an amazing season of preparation behind. You would be amazed to see that He even takes care of your tiny-teeny needs in between. He is a God of details and he never misses anything, even your tiniest prayer. The only thing is that, he has got his own ways to go about it. So get ready to witness an amazing season of preparation and gear up to put behind the former life in anxiety and desperation.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus - Philippians 4:6-7

Let's all wait patiently while God is preparing us for the next season of our life. God makes everything beautiful in his time. Believe He is capable of doing the impossible and that he can even change rules for us. Don't believe yet? Have FAITH and WATCH OUT for miracles.
